Iniesta for football innovation

Andrés Iniesta, Barcelona legend, is now the face of the FedEx Champions of Business campaign. The initiative, created by FedEx, aims to highlight businesses that are redefining the boundaries of the football world, making a positive impact on the sport through innovation and entrepreneurial success.

According to the official FedEx statement, Andrés Iniesta will be joined by Dan Vines, Senior Vice President – Sales of FedEx Europe, and Bex Smith, former footballer, entrepreneur, and CEO, as they explore the inspiring stories of the companies selected for the FedEx Champions of Business list.

Created in collaboration with the Financial Times, this selection celebrates small and medium-sized businesses that are making a tangible impact in the football world by promoting innovation or significantly contributing to the development of the sector. From technological advancements to new ways of engaging fans, these entrepreneurial ventures are strengthening the success of European football clubs, supporting both youth teams and top-tier professional squads.

Three selected companies had the opportunity to share their journey live: the first presentation was by Eyeball.club, a Czech company that has developed cutting-edge technology to revolutionize the global football scouting process. Next, The Waste Transformers, a company based in the Netherlands, presented sustainable solutions through compact biodigesters that transform food waste generated in stadiums into clean energy and certified natural fertilizers.

To close the event, zone14, an Austrian company, presented its innovative intelligent camera system. These devices not only record, analyze, and stream training sessions and matches automatically, but also extract performance data directly from the videos, offering a revolutionary tool for football academies and professional teams worldwide.
